Distinguished colleagues and friends,As the founder and third-term president, I am deeply honored to welcome you to the 6th Asia-Pacific Congress in Nursing Education (ACiNE) in Australia, hosted by Queensland University of Technology under the auspices of the Asia-Pacific Alliance in Nursing Education (APANE). I would like to express my heartfelt appreciation to Professor Patsy Yates, Vice-President of APANE, and her team at QUT.
Since the first ACiNE, organized by Mahidol University in Thailand in 2014, our journey has been one of collaboration, perseverance, and vision. In 2019, APANE was officially established at National Cheng Kung University in Taiwan, witnessed by nine Asia-Pacific national representatives and the Ministry of Health and Welfare. After two terms of dedicated leadership by Presidents Nai-Ying Ko and Sergul Duygulu, today, it has grown into a vibrant alliance of institutions dedicated to advancing nursing education across borders, cultures, and disciplines.
Our theme for the 6th conference, “New Frontiers in Nursing Education: Bridging Technology and Practice,” reflects the defining challenge of our time: to harness artificial intelligence and advanced technologies not as replacements for human touch, but as tools to elevate care, inspire innovation, and address the urgent global shortage of nursing professionals.
This conference is more than a gathering-it is a call to action. Over the coming days, I urge you to share boldly, learn openly, and collaborate deeply. Together, we have the power to reimagine nursing education and to shape a future where technology and compassion work hand in hand to transform healthcare worldwide.
I warmly invite you to participate fully, exchange insights, and leave inspired to shape the future of nursing education across the Asia-Pacific and beyond.
